Water is the key factor for growing of vegetables – We still need a borehole
Nothing grows in complete drought! This is a simple principle that each farmer is aware of.The rainy season that did not start well also had great effects on our farm in these days.
Our two water boreholes do not give us enough water in this dry season to be able to supply our farm with enough water.Because we and the animals come first, sometimes there is not enough water available for the vegetable farm and the production falls dramatically.
We have therefore decided to dig a third borehole; a bit bigger than the first two and a big tank for 5000 liter. With this step, we hope to be able to be productive during the dry season.
With the consequently set dripping irrigation taps, we keep water consumption to the minimum. We are setting this up for the entire vegetable farm and also in the green houses. This step will certainly be worthwhile, because the prices of vegetables are massively higher during the dry season. One who has vegetable to sell during this time, in the dry season one makes a substantial harvest like of a whole year’s of vegetable production.
